Auntie Helen: You wrote on my page back in February and I just discovered it!!!! I used to teach pre-k and kindergarten until I became a stay at home mom. Now, with the divorce going on, I will be going back to school for paralegal work--here in the great state of Illinois, they have laid off more than 50000 teachers, so I can't see going back into education as a means of supporting myself and my son. I did, however, LOVE teaching--especially those kids that no one else knows what to do with!!!!! Now that I'm learning more about how to use this webpage, I will be able to communicate better with you and all the other lovely CURE lovers out there!!!

Hurrah!! I think I've figured out the round-a-bout way of this blogging malarky on this 'ere website, so my reply to YOUR reply is on my wall (I'm guessing it should rather be here, right?) For a techie person, I can sure be as dumb as a post... :-D Linda

Hello Auntie Helen, how are you? I got my wisdom teeth removed two days ago and my lovely mother bought me a Cure cd when I was in surgery (I asked her if she would get me Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me). After waking up and waiting around a bit, my mum came in and we went into the waiting room and we were doing charades in the waiting room, haha but failing that I wrote to her using her phone. Then she gave me the deluxe edition go KMKMKM and I listened to it when I got home, I really like 'One More Time' It's such a lovely song. Since then I've been relaxing, sleeping, listening to The Cure, looking up Cure interviews today :) and trying to eat something, which is quite hard. I'm not in to much pain so hopefully I can go back to school on Monday. I went to my dad's place today and he gave me a present, it was lovely (I had told him a few agos that all I wanted when I got my wisdom teeth removed was an image of a kitten with a bandage around it's head. No matter how hard we looked even online we couldn't find this) I opened the present and there was a toy cat with a bandage around it's head and a few other cat things (although they were a little child-ish, he even said so) it was so sweet and kind of him. What have you been up to? What have you been up to today?

Hi Helen! This is the FB link - http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/event.php?eid=193013690708683 It's at a club, they've got a couple of DJ's, one, who's called Marcel, used to be on here a lot. It's linked with RS's birthday :-) I'm 70% going, just working on my husband ;-) I do keep in touch with a lot of the oldies, mostly on FB, but a couple on Myspace (although no one seems to use that anymore either!). When they all left (not all in one go, mind!) and then when this forum got closed down for a while, everyone kind of sought each other out so no one would lose touch. Wishing you a lovely weekend! =^.^=

The Cure party is Easter weekend in Berlin. cureconnections.com are the ones primarily hosting it, and there's a page or two on facebook (are you on FB?) It's not top secret, but hardly anyone from ccc comes here anymore after all the old drama. It used to be lovely and busy here, then all the oldies left and haven't cpome back :-( But there's a lot of lovely new people like yourself :-) curecolours has gone immensely quiet now, long story...

yes, I pop on every now and again, have a read and the odd post :-) Not as much as I used to ;-) Things are good here, but it does look like I won't be getting to Bestival :-( you're going? I also want to get to the Cure party in Berlin, but time's running out for that, it's at Easter! How are things with you my Cure friend?! =^.^=

I wish you a lovely Christmas and New Year also :-) Moderating doesn't take up much time at all. So far (touch wood!) we've not had any reason to step in, it's just been things like moving threads to the right boards, etc :-)

DJ is currently helloworld :-) Bas is ok, but as you've seen, he can be a tad fickle at times :-) I got to be moderator on curecolours as an online friend started the forum :-) it's an easy-going place so it's easy to moderate ;-)

it's hard to say who the antagonists are/were as they had multiple profiles. GH/KU was the mod who had disagreements with the likes of DJ (who is a nice guy). Really the only oddball is OB Laden whose sole purpose is to try to wind people up. Levs/Bridget used to have her moments but she's good at heart. Deep down there's no one really to avoid, it's just how they're handled. Bas is a nice guy but he's got personal issues with members that I'm very good friends with. But I guess that could be similar with a lot of forums? The main problem for this place is lack of good visimods. There are unofficial forums like cureconnections or curecolours (where I'm a mod... ;-) where there aren't many fall outs

Oh, there's no secrecy really. It's probably mainly that if it gets discussed again in a thread, it'll all kick off again... Essentially, a handful (if that) of members way back when had a disagreement with one of the Cure crew who was a moderator of sorts here, back when we had visible mods. Then, years later, about a year or so ago, that mod returned and all hell broke loose with the members who were originally involved. Posts got deleted, then profiles were deleted without warning, some for no apparent reason. Some members posted quite disgusting things on threads and also people's profiles, and complaints were made to Universal. Then the forum (but not the rest of the site) got closed down, probably while they thought what to do with everything. It came back, but it's been a little fragile since. That's why people in the username thread hinted at multiple profiles, as that was one of the things used to cause mayhem. I admit I snapped at one member, something I'm not proud of. A lot of members haven't been back since, but some are coming back slowly :-) I hope all this doesn't scare you off! It all became different here once the record label changed, from Fiction, as previously we had moderators who joined in, and even the odd post from RSX :-) It's doing ok here now :-)

when the friend request thing first came in, everyone seemed to add everyone else, but then it all calmed down, so I wouldn't take it personally :-) after everything kicked off a while ago, a lot of people are still to come back and post. I'm going to have a look in a day or two for the obsCUREties, when I get paid ;-) I hope Santa hears your present wish and you get Joined The Dots, it's well worth getting that. My favourite is cd 3 :-)
