Well on New Year's Eve i celebrated with one of my dad friends who are neighbors...and my parents and brother got a nice buzz..lol and then me and my dad went to the rose parade which was really fun but i was too damn tired because i only slept 2 hrs and got a headache and went to complete sleep mode yesterday...well on christmas open present and got a 100 dollar gift card and already wasted it...so i guess it was a really nice holiday for me... Oh yeah, I don't let my kid touch Matt's drumsticks basically because I always request the most beat-up stick (I don't need new ones, I have enough of those). The one from Vegas is being held together by what looks like a toothpick. And that's just from soundcheck!

I'm telling you, Matt has been at the top of my list since the very first second I saw him when he got out of the van at the Boston gig and flashes all the fans the nicest smile and wave, while the others just scurried inside. Then I always insisted on standing next to him during the M&G photos, and he always gave me great hugs. And then of course he and I had a great conversation (a lot like the one you had) in Vegas. He's a class act, and one HELL of a musician.

Hello there. How are things in Essex? It's been a rainy morning here in Savannah, but we need it. It was dark, rainy, and windy when the alarm rudely woke me. All I wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep. Kurt called early this morning to tell me his Mom had a massive stroke after her hip surgery yesterday. All signs point to her being brain dead, but they are running one more EEG this afternoon. This will give his brother time to get to the hospital. Once he arrives, they will most likely remove her from life support. Kurt asked if I would come up, so I'm heading there after work tonight. Send a prayer up for his family. Anyway...on a brighter note...the M5 tour begins next week! Hopefully, this will generate some excitement for the band and their music. I hope so....they've worked hard for their success. I do not have time to sleep. I am a working girl. Not a prostitute, the other kind. I got a message from the au pair types about my references, and checking dates etc, so that's all sorted. They have everything from me now, bar my CRB I had to complete at the interview (that's not through yet), but I still haven't had a definite 'yes' or 'no'. I'm leaning towards 'if it was a no I'd have heard by now', but I'm just waiting to properly find out. If it is a no, I need to find another job; I cannot work at the NHS indefinitely. Thanks so much for your kindness, Tina. I spent more than 6 months everyday after work and on weekends working at Ground Zero on the FDNY-EMS recovery team. I saw the attacks. I lost a friend, I lost my crew partner who I went through the academy with and a rookie who had no business being there. This is what puts everything into perspective. I've been in my pyjamas since ten past three. I got up (hungover) at 10, watched the Hollyoaks omnibus, got taken for lunch by my parents, came home, got back into my pyjamas, watched Waking the Dead and ate a Daim bar, had a bath, then ate cheese and crackers. Maroon 5 is owned by the original five members. A nice telephone chat with the very sweet Mod at SIN is how I got that comment (and mine) erased. Yep, I even asked that my repsonse be deleted since there's no reason to stoop to her level. But I did keep a screen cap. I have a LOT of screen caps from the psycho board as well. I thought I had worked out what the 'F' stood for!! And hell yes, I so would given half a chance!! As for Petey, he is such a tease!! The jeans were shrink wrapped on him hun & he has such a cute little arse!! Couldn't get any decent pictures cos it got pretty pushy near the front & people were being pulled out of the crowd from everywhere!! Pete does all the talking & when he smiles............well I am gone. I spent most of the time wiping my chin!! I tell ya, Ashlee is one lucky lucky Lady!!! Shhhh....let's keep it betewwen us....Matt signed a drumstick for Chey and Adam & Matt both signed a photo for us also. Canadian Idol was awesome and when I screamed out to James, he waved back. We were both in out stripes. And now for the crem de la creme....I just won two tix to the Toronto concert from a radio station just from emailing a question to them. Oddly, I was driving downtown for an appt. and parked my car in some reserved lot to run and grab a coffee, and guess who's van was waiting there....M5's!!! I didn't even know it was the back patking lot for the radio show they were on. Then once I got into my car, they announced the winners of th concert tix and sure enough, once I returned home, there in my email box was my Congrats! from the station. I truly believe that when God taketh He does give back! I feel my Gerry over me and sending his love and all this luck. It's insanity the emotional roller coaster I've been on. And to top it all off, Chey and I were on tv for Canadian Idol and Much Music - Much on Demand!!! This is too much for me...need my anxiety meds - going to listen to Maroon 5 right now. T have not dhared with anyone else yet...you are the first to know and I kinda want to be private right now about all this craziness. The laws of attraction and power of positive creative visualization do work. This is proof! xo

John Mayer may be well known in the U.K. in certain circles. He was recently on the cover of Rolling Stone here in the U.S. as one of 3 new "guitar gods." He really is something to see... gives great concerts, has good songs, always appreciative of his fans and pretty damn funny too. I don't love his voice but ehh... no biggie.

Hiya, I've almost hit the max on my limit so I need to pop another £50 on so I can get the souncheck tickets. I can get a normal ticket but it would be so much better to get the soundcheck one. I got my S.I.N pack today it only took about 5 days I was quite impressed, just watched the dvd they are quite a funny bunch. Where has the summer gone?????? I did hear to day that August is meant to get really hot somewhere between 40c-50c dont think I can handle that though. Anyway will keep you informed on the ticket situation as it would be good to meet up in Brighton on the day. Take care, D x

So I purchased a SIN membership for my daughter and "she" bought 2 tix. I'm sending my mom and her to see them in Toronto. And M5 will be in Toronto August 14th for Canadian Idol....tix are $5 feakin Canadian dollars (convert that and pic your jaw up off the floor!). But of course I'll be waiting outside most of the day....no worries, did it once and I'll do it again. Stewart Copeland still has his mop of hair too... yes, I do see a patern : ) The concert was an out of body experience. Every song brought back moments, places, people from 30-20 years ago. With all the flashbacks I was probably close to having hallucinations! They all looked so happy to be there: many smiles, many encores, bows to the audience with their arms around their shoulders... it was almost crazy to think they had ever broken up. Worth waiting 25 years for.... worth the mozzies... worth it all!

Dude, I'm not even sure I'll even do ONE soundcheck this tour. My Boston friend would NEVER consider paying that much... and even if Maroon 5 has a soundcheck in NY (and that's a BIG IF), I need to find a friend who won't think paying $130 is a crap idea. True, I could go alone... and maybe I will.... but I'm not sure yet... I seriously don't find Maroon 5 charming enough while Wake Up Call is their single.... but we'll see how I feel after I have some more pina coladas. Night Tina.

It's sooooo pretty here on the beach. I'm definitely not an outdoorsy type though. Right now I'm scratching 4 mosquito bites and missing Brooklyn. haha. These tour prices seriously are outrageous. Maroon 5's going to turn into one of those bands that I ignore because there's a limit to how much I'll pay for some live music. Right now though... it's hard for me to complain about anything... I'm under sunny blue skies, listening to reggae... waiting for The Police Concert and... get this... I'm going to a FOURTH club show! Amazing how this worked out. Originally I thought I'd only go to Bowery Ballroom. I finally convinced myself to do a second show in Boston. Then my Mpls friends invited me to visit and I went to to a third. Now, from sheer dumb luck, I'm going to a fourth. AND THE POLICE CONCERT!! I really am not that lucky a person, so I'm soaking in this one magic moment ...

The more I learn about you the more fantastic I think you are... seriously, not only did you get your college degree while taking care of your family as a working mother, but you got your degree in education/child care. Even if you don't end up doing that as your career, I can't help but think it's the coolest since some of my closest friends work as teachers. Yes, I'm a groupie! My bosses asked me why I was taking these odd days/ half vacation days off and I told them (me & my absurd honesty) and now I'm known in AT WORK as a Maroon 5 groupie!! Awesome. After that, nothing embarasses me. I love the Twin Cities. I'm still in Minneapolis, sitting in a coffee shop with my friend... seeing what's new in M5 land. I definitely DON'T prefer Maroon 5 acoustic. In fact, after Musicians On Call, I was expecting to be bored to death. But it wasn't that bad. Mainly, because it was so relaxed and spontaneous. You just never knew what was going to happen next. We saw Jesse on drums during their cover of Patience!!

didn't get to have pics taken, didn't get that close (or that lucky) becky did get close to matt, she gave him her cookies just outside the theater, i was headed down with my camera to take a picture, but she walked away from him!!!!! she was kicking herself later!!!! she couldn't get over how cute he is. my fingers are crossed for the concert they have in salt lake, please let there be a meet & greet!!!!!!!! the sound check & show were amazing, and meeting so many of my board buds was wonderful. when becky & i finally met it felt as though we'd known each other for ever. it was very cool.

It's also that I was never in love with SAJ singles, except Sunday Morning. AND I'm so eager to hear IWBSBL songs such as KIwi and Back at Your Door that it pains me to hear the opening bars of SWBL... that's the problem with singles... band can NEVER stop playing them. The wonderful thing about soundchecks, for me, is how natural they feel... you get to see the guys play/work on their music without a white hot spotlight on them. There's some audience interaction but not much. During the 2005 Honda Civic Tour I remember some fans complaining that the band didn't even acknowledge their presence during some soundchecks. Even if that happened I'd still think it was worth going. Am I nuts?

I'm worried that for the U.S. tour they'll do something similarly and that we'll only be able to get one soundcheck package ticket OR two SIN concert tickets. That'd make my roadtrips to visit friends around M5 concerts a little less fun. I agree with you about the fall tour prices. If it turns out to be the same in the U.S. I'll only go to a couple of shows. Oh well... can't complain too much when I have these club shows to be grateful for....
