That’s great Chico, I bet your 25th rocked! I’m embarrassed that I have now totally monopolised your comments page - I always have too much to say. :p ... But, guess what? - Thanks to your website link I’ve found out I do have a bit of Soundgarden credibility. Hard to believe I know! But I’ll prove it: I was checking out SG releases/singles on the site, and saw they’d contributed to the Pump Up the Volume soundtrack – which I bought way back when I was at school. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but there were a few tracks I would program in and listen to: The Pixies – ‘Wave of Mutilation’, Concrete Blonde’s cover of ‘Everybody Knows’, and … Soundgarden – ‘Heretic’!! So that means I first (sort of) discovered CC maybe around 1996/7 - which is a little bit more respectable, no?!

:) I was frantically trying to download songs I’d seen posted on setlists here before the Hyde Park show. I only vaguely knew about CC solo, Audioslave & a l'il bit about Soundgarden then. So I’d go to iTunes, search for a song and TOTD kept coming up. I was like WTF, who are they?! I had to preview the clips to make sure it was CC’s voice before I believed I had the right band.

That’s great. I wish I’d discovered more music by myself. My introduction to CC was via a whole series of coincidences: I’d always loved the song that’s kinda the love theme for Miami Vice… then an old friend got back in touch out of the blue. He happened to know the film well and told me it was Audioslave… We spent ages trying to find the exact scene it was in to get the title – Shape Of Things To Come! So then of course I had to go buy Revelations… And Carry On was due out the next month … And Chris just happened to be playing London … so I bought us some last-minute tickets and that was it… I’ve never had MTV; that might’ve speeded things up a bit!

Hehe, I never would’ve guessed!! :) I don’t think I’ve ever heard CC (solo, or in any of his bands) played on UK radio. Though obviously now I have a much better idea of what to listen out for! Did someone introduce you to Soundgarden, or did you discover them by yourself?

Really? That surprises me! I imagined you to be one of the old-school fans who knew about them from the beginning. Yeah, I’m really looking forward to getting my Amazon delivery and going off for a drive with a Soundgarden record in my stereo. I pay much more attention that way. And no-one can hear me singing along! :)

I hope so! Cuz I’ve already started my ‘homework’: just ordered Down On The Upside, Badmotorfinger AND Euphoria Morning. Lol does that make me teacher’s pet?! I really am trying to redeem myself here!! Until CC, my top three artists had released 10 albums between them; with Chris’s extensive back catalogue to work my way through I feel very indulged!
