Now I know there has been a lot of dispute about whether Recovery was better than The Eminem Show, but at the end of the day I personally would have to say...yes. I think Em comes harder than he did on The Eminem Show with a mindset that is like, cocky lets just say. The Eminem Show has its weak points with songs like Drips or When The Music Stops, but with Recovery there is truly no BAD song. If any song is even close to a BAD song it would have to be 25 to Life, I think the chorus is weak and I really don't like the format of the song myself. Again, it's not a BAD song but a weaker song on the album. So to me I am going to have to give this album a 9.5/10 due to the fact of there not being a weak track out of the 17 or 19 if you count the two bonus tracks (Ridaz & Session One feat. Slaughterhouse). Now with this album I had a very tough time coming up with my top 5 songs because of the fact again of there not being a bad track on the album. But I did my listening and came up with my 5 that I think are the best on the album, from 5 to 1. 5)No Love (Feat. Lil Wayne)- It took me a long time to really get used to this song but after constantly listening to it over and over I have to say, it is a hard track and Em doesn't flow better on any song on the album better than this one. I mean he absolutely kills his verse, but Wayne on the other hand is ok. Wayne kind of has a slow type of rapping on this track which I think doesn't fit very well because once Em comes in he just kills the thing and spits faster than ever, kind of like his verse on Forever. I am not saying Wayne does a bad job on this song, but he could of gave his verse a more up tempo type of rap. Overall, No Love is my number 5 track on the album and I give the song a 8 out of 10. 4)W.T.P.- Ok, the way to really sum up this track is by saying that this one is the closest your going to get to Slim Shady on the album. Basically, the song is just him spitting about throwing a White Trash Party in Warren Michigan and about everything that's going on, haha, really one of the funnier moments on the album. Ever since the first time I heard it I really liked this song, and I think probably has one of the best choruses on the album. I give this track an 8.5 out of 10 and is my number 4. 3)So Bad- The one track that is produced by Dr. Dre on the album is one of the best on the album. I am not going to lie but Relapse really made me think that Dre was losing his touch as a producer but this song put me right in my place. One of the best beats on the album no doubt and Em's wordplay is crazy on this song, the chorus is a strong point as well. But I have to give this song a 8.5 out of 10 as well and is my third favorite song on the album. 2)Cold Wind Blows- The first song on the album and is kind of like his comeback song is unbelievable. He just goes right into it and just starts going off about anything and everything that comes to his mind, and kind of reminds me of Despicable and could pass for a freestyle to. But definitely the most vulgar song on the album because about every three words he swears, haha, makes the track even more funny. But I give this song a 9 out of 10 because of the hard beat and Em's style of killing it on this one. 1)On Fire- From the day I saw this title I knew this song would be insane, and it is by far my favorite on the album. The beat is the absolute no doubt best beat on the album and produced by a member of D12, Kon Artis aka Mr. Porter. Now after hearing this track I think on Em's next album he should use Kon a little more because he proves to all of us that he can produce a crazy ass track. A lot of people are saying this is the worst song on the album which makes no sense what so ever, but I guess you always have those who know nothing about music, haha. I give this track a 10 out of 10 because of the beat and Em just going in and on about anything and everything once again, and makes a couple shout outs to critics here and there, haha. So overall I truly can say for myself that I think this is Em's best project yet due to the fact he is coming off a very big disappointment with Relapse. Recovery sold over 100,000 more copies than Relapse did in the first week so I think the fans worldwide would agree with that statement. Also a kind of cool fact about Recovery, this is only the third album since 2008 to sell over 700,000 in the first week alone. But Em obviously did a great job with Recovery and now we can all sit back and listen to the new music and just wait for another album to drop and debut at number one again, haha, Recovery was a success worldwide and most importantly in DRock's book, and that's all that matters.
