Why Eminem is my favorite rapper...

Why Eminem is my favorite rapper...

If you saw my age on here, obviously you would know that he came out when I was a little kid. Before I get into this, I'll tell ya a lil about myself: I was a kid born and raised near Seattle during the grunge rock era, and I grew up in a city called Federal Way, which is what I'd like to call a silent ghetto, the type of place that all of the bad things happen under wraps and if you knew about it it was because you lived there or knew a lot of people from there. I grew up to get a great passion for music, especially rock and rap. My mom and my older brother (who's 9 years older than me) always played both genres and I created a love for both. My brother and I have always been very close, and he was the one who brought rap into my life. He used to crank Bone, Thugs and Harmony and Luniz and TuPac,and when I was in the first grade, if I remember right, taht was when I found out about Eminem because of my brother. I used to try to rap to "My Name Is" when I was only 6, and my brother used to always try to show me how. See, there was always something about Eminem that made me think of my brother because my brother introduced his music to me. What I found was that they had a lot more in common, my brother got really into drugs aswell and our relationship always held, no matter what he said and did to me while on his D.O.C (Methamphedamines) and when he was gone and I felt like I needed my brother, but I couldn't have him, I always listened to Eminem, he always reminded me of my brother, with how he dealt with things, bad and good with a lot of passion behind it. Whenever I heard Eminem, it was like having my brother right there, next to me, rapping right along with me. Life was hard, he was in and out of jail, my first neice (his 1st daughter) died 2 hours after birth due to kidney issues that ran in the mother's side of the family, and their meth problems got really bad, but then, he had my nephew Caleb, and he went clean again (They were clean while my 1st neice was found out about) and they tried hard but they relapsed, Caleb's life was very shakey, he was very loved but they weren't there, but then, after becoming homeless and missing him, they decided to get clean and stay clean, right then, they had my second neice Destiny, and now, they are staying clean, they had a hard time, but they've been clean for almost 6 months now :) They are building their lives and I got my brother back. In the midst of all this, Recovery came out, hearing how Eminem was getting clean too, was a phenominon to me, it was like getting my full brother back, and getting encouragement from my favorite rapper. Eminem is my favorite rapper because just like my brother it seemed that even when their live's were in the dirt, they always seemed to love and connect with me encouraging me to be my full self and to stand up for myself, my life, what I believe in, what I feel, what I want, what I need, and for what I love. I want to thank Eminem, because his music really helped me understand my brother's pain and his feelings. If Eminem ever reads this, I hope he knows that his music really is powerful and that his music always made me not feel alone. If he reads this, Thank You, for letting your music reach my ears and let me know that there is always hope, that even when one is a monster that the real him is still kept within. Thank you Eminem.
